24th Annual WOC in
Copenhagen, Denmark

The official site for the 24th Annual World Othello Championship to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, November 1 - 4, 2000 will be The Copenhagen Admiral Hotel, at Toldbodgade 24-28. A magnificently restored warehouse from 1787, the Admiral is located in the heart of Copenhagen on the harbor front and next door to the Queen's residential palace, Amalienborg.

The Welcome Reception will be held at the Admiral Hotel on Wednesday, November 1, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In keeping with tradition, first round pairings will be drawn at the Reception.

These hotels have been recommended for their quality and proximity to the event. Note: You MUST remember to mention 'OTHELLO' when booking your room at one of these three hotels in order to get these reduced rates.

Tournament Director

Henrik Vallund, 35, president of the Danish Othello Association will direct the 24th World Othello Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Vallund began playing Othello in 1982 and became the co-creator of the Danish Othello Association in 1984. He has been president of the DOA since 1991. Vallund was the 1987 Danish National and 1998 Nordic Champion. He has participated in numerous tournaments worldwide, including five previous WOCs. Vallund has previously served as Tournament Director for Nordic and Danish Championships as well as the Copenhagen International Open.
